Drafted by Pastoral Team to be shared in Summer Retreat

 

Assessment: to understand the current situation of the 4 elements of the Christian culture in Jaffray, i.e. Deeper Life, Unity, Welcoming and Kingdom mindset. The same survey-form-assessments will be done 3 times to keep ourselves on track. 

• 1st will be completed by October 2018 and presented in November AGM 2018

• 2nd will be done in 2 years (2020)

• 3rd will be done in 4 years (2022)

• In 2023, we will plan for next 5-10 years based on the assessments or other criteria.

 

Deeper Life: To walk and to experience God in cooperately and in personally

• 2018 July-Dec

  • Training Discipleship small group leaders

  • Discipleship manual completed by September by Pastoral Team

    • Led by Pastor Arthur

• 2019

  • Revival Friday gathering or Sunday service for the Entire church in

  • Feb 8, 15, 22 & Mar 1st 2019 (or Sunday of the week)

    • 4 Fridays/Sunday in a roll on Four Fold Gospel and aim for

      • “Christ the Savior” lead to confession of His Lordship

      • “Christ the Sanctifier” lead to Repentance Prayer

      • “Christ the Healer” lead to healing ministry

      • “Christ the coming King” lead to dedication to mission.  

    • Revival meeting followed by 40-day-lent

      • March 6th (Wed) to Apr 18th (Thu)

      • Apr 19 (Fri) Good Friday,

        • Suggesting a Consecration Service on Good Friday.

      • Revival meeting on Joint Easter Sunday

  • If this Revival gathering runs well, we can do that every year.

    • Otherwise, we can start on Good Friday-Easter weekend to do a 50-days Holy Spirit upto Pentecost (June 9th 2019, or May 31st 2020)

  • Discipleship in Small Group

    • Sunday School

    • Small Group or Fellowships

    • Training One-on-one coaching and/or mentoring

  • Teaching and preaching on Spiritual formation and Spiritual warfare

• 2020

  • Discipleship in small group will be continued or expanded

  • Discipleship: one-on-one mentorship/coaching for mature Christians and leaders

 

Unity: to support, to pray, to respect, to serve each other and together for others outside of Jaffray.

 

• Monthly Luncheon + Prayer together

  • 1st phase Start with 20 min prayer time, 5+15 min

    • Time allocation:

      • 12:30-01:15 Having lunch and sharing within the table

      • 01:15-01:30 pray together

  • 2nd phase Share the praise and give thanks for how Lord answer our prayer. The prayer time may extend to 30 min

    • Time allocation:

      • 12:30-01:15 Having lunch and sharing within the table

      • 01:15-01:30 Appointed One or two to share and to praise

      • 01:30-01:45 Pray together

  • Logistic: consider purchasing a commercial dishwasher that can wash dishes faster, cleaner (the cost ~$5000 for 2019)

 

• Monthly Inter-congregational newsletter

  • Starting in Sept 2018 onwards, every month issue inter-congregational newsletter on

    • What’s happening

    • Things we give thanks for

    • Things we need prayer for

  • Issue this newsletter on the same day as the Monthly Luncheon.

 

• Monthly Wednesday Joint Prayer meeting for the whole church

  • Encourage the Deacons and Elders to attend

  • Categorize by Ministries and led by the respective deacons (e.g. Christian Education led by CE deacons of Cantonese, Eng, Mandarin and YL)

 

• Serve the communities together in a holistic way

  • Start from what we are doing: e.g. annual Port Union Water Front Festival, …
